Why in the World Would We Want to Fiddle with a Perfectly Good Equation?

Today's class was primarily concerned with answering the question posted on today's blog title. We made use of two very familiar equations: the Pythagorean Theorem Equation and the equation for a line written in slope-intercept form.

The idea was to ask, "what can these equations be used to find?" In doing so, we realized that we can manipulate equations to serve our particular purposes.
