Reflection Activity for the April Vacations

Journal Entry for Term 4
Directions were handed out in class today. As always, the journal entry counts as 15% of the term grade. This particular entry is comprised of 31 questions. We spent significant time discussing the relevance and immediacy of the assignment and took a sampling of actual problems to get a taste of what is in store. Students seemed to agree that answering the questions will require a great deal of thought and were also amenable to the fact that having class notes and math textbook will be critical in answering questions.
ALSO
I provided students with the "calendar problems" for the month of March and offered that if they could solve any 12 of the 31 problems accurately, I would offer extra credit on any quiz or test grade of their choice. The actual amount, I have yet to determine. All work and evidence of solutions must be presented for credit to be awarded.
